Grant Abbott will be joined by Ellen Grant, Tax Solicitor, and Kaella Forbes, Estate Planning Solicitor, from LightYear Legal for three hours of practical legal, taxation and strategy insights.
Kaella will discuss the importance of Enduring Powers of Attorney, the risks of getting them wrong and how they should be properly structured. Ellen and Grant will then deliver a one-hour examination of Caldwell v Caldwell, including new findings and the implications of the case for advisers and their clients.
The session will also feature a one-hour discussion on proposed taxation changes affecting the trust system. Ellen and Grant will explain the potential impact of these changes and discuss SAPEPAA’s submission to Treasury.
As a special conference preview, Grant will unveil the agenda for the upcoming SAPEPAA Bali Conference for the first time.
